Cloud backup gives small business owners peace of mind
The recent 2012 Global Disaster Recovery Index from Acronis shows that confidence in small business backup and disaster recovery capabilities is 14 percent higher than it was in 2011.
Acronis analysts suggest that a main reason for this rise is the fact that 66 percent of respondents said that they check backup and recovery plans more frequently. The increased availability and affordability of cloud archiving solutions have also generated renewed confidence in data protection protocol.
Cloud migrations can have several parallel benefits as well. Recently, the City of Pittsburgh's police department began using the cloud as a means of facilitating communication between its nearly 3,000 employees. Early returns have been positive, with the agency saving 25 percent in email support costs.
Cloud email is a very efficient and cost-effective method for organizations of all sizes to backup their data. Moving email archives to the cloud not only ensures quick recovery in the event that data is lost from on-premises computers, but it is an easy way to archive emails and data should owners need more capacity.
