Cloud computing to shape all companies, all industries, expert claims
More industries are turning to cloud computing technology than ever before, especially for its data recovery and email archiving capabilities.
According to E-Commerce Times writer Jeff Kagan, despite greater acceptance, the cloud is still a maturing technology and has a bright future on a global scale.
"The cloud will transform the entire business environment for consumers, investors and the companies themselves," wrote Kagan. "The impact will be similar to the original PC revolution. Remember when back in the 1980s every store had to call in the daily sales figures? Nothing was computerized."
Moving forward, the writer added that the cloud is expected to evolve and impact every industry as well as help consumers store their information more effectively. For companies not utilizing cloud computing, he encouraged them to dive in and experiment with what will be the next IT revolution.
Global IT company Unisys recently announced findings of a study that revealed the cloud the top industry priority in 2012. According to its research, 50 percent of participants named the technology as most important for the second consecutive year.
