Hosted Exchange 2007 Access
Stay Connected with Anywhere Access
Access all your communications when you need them, how you want them
The demand for today’s workforce to access communications anywhere, anytime is continually growing. Staying connected is an essential ingredient in any recipe for success. LiveOffice Hosted Exchange offers a comprehensive solution to keep you in touch with your business 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Unified Messaging
Unified messaging offers a great deal of flexibility to meet your workforce’s varying needs. You’ll save time and money and increase productivity by consolidating all forms of communication in one unified inbox with Hosted Exchange. Employees can access their email, calendar invites and contacts through Outlook, Outlook Web Access, a mobile device or even a standard telephone when Internet access is not available.
Outlook Web Access
New and improved Outlook Web Access complements your hosted messaging service, featuring a rich, Outlook-like experience in a browser. Common calls to your helpdesk are reduced by allowing users to quickly and easily resolve issues on their own, like resetting their voicemail PIN, issuing a remote wipe for lost or stolen mobile devices, or adding senders to safe or blocked lists. For slow connections, Outlook Web Access Light provides the same rich remote access at better speeds. Security has also been improved with Exchange 2007, which now includes two-factor authentication.
Enhanced Outlook Web Access allows you to complete more tasks remotely via the Web than ever before.
- Schedule out-of-office messages and send them to internal and/or external recipients.
- Use the Scheduling Assistant to efficiently book meetings.
- Access SharePoint documents without a VPN or tunnel using LinkAccess.
- View attachments in HTML, even if the application that created the file is not installed locally. (Administrators can enforce HTML-only document viewing to avoid private information being left on public kiosks.)
- Access RSS subscriptions.
- View content in managed email folders.
- Search your Global Address Book.
Mobile Access
Improved mobile messaging offers a better email and calendaring experience on a variety of mobile devices. And with Hosted Exchange, there’s no need for expensive third-party software or devices. Users can maintain a secure connection and receive new or updated email, calendar invites, contact information and tasks as soon as they arrive on the Exchange server with ActiveSync, which optimizes bandwidth usage while keeping information up to date. Exchange ActiveSync also provides enhanced device and security policy control.
With enhanced mobile messaging, you can reply to a meeting invitation with a message, forward the invitation to another person and view acceptance tracking for meeting attendees directly from your mobile device. You can also set out-of-office messages and retrieve and display documents without a VPN or tunnel with LinkAccess. Finding information is easier than ever with a new, comprehensive search capability that not only queries the local device, but also the user’s entire Exchange mailbox.
Additional mobile access features include the ability to remotely clear the contents or reset the password via Outlook Web Access if your mobile device is lost or stolen. Exchange 2007 also allows administrators to set per-user mobile device policies, allowing or disallowing attachments, specifying PIN expirations, etc.
Collaboration Tools
Anywhere Access facilitates greater collaboration and productivity, allowing your employees to respond quickly from home, work or on the go through a familiar Microsoft Office Outlook experience on a variety of devices. Quick response times are critical to business success, and Exchange 2007’s new communication and collaboration tools were designed to align with the changing habits of today’s workforce. Enhanced calendaring, out-of-office messages, resource booking and meeting scheduling capabilities make it easier to find and share data, documents and schedules from anywhere.
New collaboration tools further enhance your Hosted Exchange messaging service.
- Calendar Attendant reduces scheduling conflicts by limiting calendar items (requests, declines, accepts) in the Exchange inbox to the latest version. Meeting requests are automatically marked as tentative on recipient calendars until invitees can act on requests. Users can also employ security levels to govern who can view and access their availability (free/busy) information, grant access on a case-by-case basis and set different levels of reading permissions.
- Resource Booking Attendant enables automatic resource management to help schedule meeting rooms and other equipment via the Exchange Server. The attendant can auto-accept requests when an invitee is available or decline an invitation and provide details explaining why. The administrator can also develop a resource calendar and set resource policies, including available hours and scheduling permissions.
- Scheduling Assistant streamlines meeting planning through Exchange 2007 by visually presenting the best (and worst) times for booking attendees, rooms and resources. Provide your desired list of attendees and resources, and the Scheduling Assistant automatically suggests the best time for your meeting. Users can set their working hours, so their meetings can only be scheduled during those times.
- Schedulable Out-of-Office Messages reduce the likelihood of an Exchange 2007 user’s out-of-office message not being set by scheduling them to begin and end on specific dates and times. Users can send separate out-of-office messages to internal and external recipients and set or unset messages from mobile devices.
