Cloud Email

Liberate email – no matter what provider or platform is in use

More and more organizations are considering a cloud-based (hosted) email solution for the first time as an alternative to their current on-premise systems. Some of the benefits include the cost savings, shifting the IT burden (to a trusted third-party), emergence of cloud email solutions (like Microsoft Office 365 and Google Apps), larger mailboxes and the “pay-as-you-go” pricing model.

However, moving to a cloud-based email platform has serious implications for any existing on-premise archives. Only cloud-based archiving solutions can integrate with cloud-based, multi-tenant email platforms. On-premise, appliance and hybrid archiving solutions cannot simply plug into the cloud, since they :

  • Rely on MAPI (which cannot be supported by multi-tenant email providers)
  • Use log shipping or event syncing technologies (for copying data to the archive), which cannot be supported by cloud email providers
  • Cannot install on-premise software or appliances in the data centers of the cloud-based email providers

LiveOffice offers a secure, open and complete archiving platform that can integrate with cloud and on-premise email solutions. This flexibility enables organizations to benefit from these emerging cloud email platforms, while also providing peace of mind in helping them to meet advanced e-discovery and compliance requirements.

LiveOffice lets organizations plug their email into these popular and emerging email clouds:

123Together.com. Hosted Exchange services from 123Together.com cater to both small and medium-sized businesses. If organizations are using 123Together.com and would like to add LiveOffice archiving, just contact LiveOffice directly to provision and configure journaling from the email service provider to the hosted archive (via a dedicated implementation specialist).
AppRiver. Exchange Hosting from AppRiver simplifies the setup, provisioning and management of Microsoft Exchange by creating a complete managed service for administrators and end users. LiveOffice helps AppRiver customers provision journaling and walks them through every step of the configuration setup and onboarding process.
Apptix. As the largest independent Hosted Exchange Email Service, Apptix reliably hosts and manages organizations email communications, so they don’t have to deal with the hassle—or the expense. Apptix’s Exchange hosting enables companies of all sizes to have flexible, easy-to-use, business-class messaging as well as collaboration and group scheduling. Apptix customers can work directly with LiveOffice and its dedicated implementation specialists to setup journaling to take advantage of an unlimited and searchable archive.
Cisco WebEx Mail. Cisco recently introduced WebEx Mail—the only non-Microsoft solution that offers protocol-level (MAPI) Outlook support. Users get full Outlook functionality without the need for IT to deploy a client or server plugin. Cisco WebEx Mail leverages a scalable Linux backend, but offers native Outlook support and Active Directory interoperability. To signup for archiving and enable journaling, simply contact LiveOffice, and the archiving services team will help securely capture all emails from Cisco WebEx Mail.
Google Apps Premier Edition. Google Apps is another quickly growing email platform in the market. Google Apps Premier Edition is the suite’s most sophisticated version with powerful new email functionality. To enable archiving with Google Apps (Premier Edition only), organizations need to configure their administrator consoles and specify the email routing options (both inbound and outbound), which sends copies of all email to LiveOffice’s hosted archive. Sound complicated? It’s not, and LiveOffice can walk companies through the process.
Intermedia Hosted Exchange. Intermedia is the leading provider of business email, including Microsoft Exchange, for the small and medium business market. To enable LiveOffice’s enterprise-grade archiving and compliance, organizations need to select LiveOffice as their compliant archiving partner. New and existing Intermedia customers can simply add LiveOffice archiving as an option in the HostPilot Control Panel.
Microsoft Office 365/Exchange Online Support. Exchange Online is one of the world’s largest and fastest growing hosted email platforms. After customers signup for Exchange Online, they simply create a support ticket with Microsoft and provide them with a unique journal address. Microsoft then provisions the journaling and LiveOffice ensures that all email is being archived as part of the setup process. NOTE: Please allow one to two weeks for Microsoft to provision your account.
USA.NET. For more than 11 years, USA.NET has helped companies, large and small, outsource their messaging. Its service also helps improve reliability, uptime, safety and security with premier high-touch service, certified Exchange experts and the desire to help clients meet their needs. To enable archiving with USA.NET, customers work directly with USA.NET’s dedicated support team. They configure journaling from their servers to the LiveOffice archive. After journaling is setup, LiveOffice ensures that your email is securely archived moving forward.
VMware Zimbra. The Zimbra Collaboration Suite comes in two varieties: a webmail client and a desktop client. The hosted version of Zimbra is only sold through partners, while the desktop (on-premise) version is sold direct. In order to take advantage of LiveOffice archiving, organizations need to work with their resellers to configure journaling, but LiveOffice can help along the way. With the on-premise version, organizations' email administrators need to run a series of Linux shell commands in order to provision journaling.

POP/IMAP Transport. LiveOffice also offers a POP/IMAP option as an alternative transport method to SMTP journaling. With this option, organizations' email providers need to create a mailbox to aggregate email for users, and LiveOffice then collects the email for archiving via POP or IMAP over TLS. While the email administrator still needs to setup journaling and have it collected in a single mailbox, LiveOffice ensures that the email is safely ingested into its archives. Regardless of the transport approach, organizations' email is securely delivered to LiveOffice with Transport Layer Security, where its redundant SMTP gateway ensures secure archiving.
